UWO-Fond du Lac Foundation Reemerges as UW Fond du Lac Legacy Foundation Through Community Foundation Partnership
Fond du Lac, Wis. (January 19, 2024): The Fond du Lac Area Foundation (FDLAF) is proud to welcome the UW Fond du Lac Legacy Foundation (formerly the UWO – Fond du Lac Foundation) to their Family of Funds.
With deep roots in Fond du Lac and close ties to countless alumni, the announcement of the UW Fond du Lac campus closure brings new challenges to area students, and brought the UWO-Fond du Lac Foundation to a crossroads. “We were saddened by UW’s decision and the loss of access to an important educational option in Fond du Lac” said Corey Bruno, president of the UWO-Fond du Lac Foundation. “However, partnering with the Fond du Lac Area Foundation is a great way to continue our mission.” Transitioning all assets – and the scholarships they fund – to the Fond du Lac Area Foundation will increase opportunities for Fond du Lac area students.
FDLAF is proud to serve as a fiscal agent for the newly formed UW Fond du Lac Legacy Foundation’s mission to positively impact education in our communities far beyond the rich history of the UW Fond du Lac campus.
Founded in 1974, the University of Wisconsin – Fond du Lac Foundation was created to provide scholarships to both entering and continuing students and grants for professional development of the faculty and staff.
Looking forward, the UW Fond du Lac Legacy Foundation will expand the eligibility of scholarships to all prospective and current college students in Fond du Lac and Dodge Counties. The newly transformed Legacy Foundation will now have the ability to impact more college-bound students than ever before.
UW Fond du Lac Legacy Foundation scholarships will be available for the 2024-25 academic year through the FDLAF online scholarship portal beginning February 15, 2024. To access the FDLAF scholarship portal, visit www.fdlareafoundation.com.
