Disaster Relief Fund

The Fond du Lac Area Foundation’s Disaster Relief Fund was created in 2008, and is set in action only in response to extreme circumstances, such as natural disasters and community crises.

When our community and its most vulnerable populations face the effects of a natural disaster or community crisis, the Fond du Lac Area Foundation activates the Disaster Relief Fund. The fund provides an opportunity for the public to give with the reassurance their donations will be used to move resources to where they are most needed and to adapt to the evolving needs of Fond du Lac County nonprofit organizations.

As we make supporting our most vulnerable populations the top priority during unprecedented times, there is no administrative fee for donating to the Disaster Relief Fund, though donors making a credit card contribution have the opportunity to increase their gift amount to cover the credit card processing fee.

Once activated, the Disaster Relief Fund will first focus on serving disproportionately affected communities by addressing economic needs and the health impact on vulnerable populations caused by the crisis. The long-term application of the fund will focus on additional needs that will inevitably arise. This long-term recovery work will be ongoing and it is the intent that this fund will continue to grow and serve as a source that can be activated quickly in the face of whatever the next disaster may be.

Like all grants from the Fond du Lac Area Foundation, disbursements from the Disaster Relief Fund may only be made to 501(c)3 certified charitable organizations. The fund does not provide resources directly to individuals or groups that are not a 501(c)3.
