Uniting Dodge County

Beaver Dam Area Community Foundation

The Beaver Dam Area Community Foundation was established in September 2019 as a regional affiliate of the Fond du Lac Area Foundation. The Foundation serves all of Dodge County by supporting programs and projects that improve the quality of life and build stronger communities.

The idea of establishing the Beaver Dam Area Community Foundation was developed by local residents and founding board members, Tom Heffron and Patrick Lutz. Additional founders who provide ongoing assistance to the Beaver Dam Area Community Foundation include John Ralston, Jim Hankes, Ken Thomas, John Moser, John Leiting, Kay and Jack Stellpflug, and Steve Vessey.

The Fond du Lac Area Foundation coordinates the administrative details for all Beaver Dam Area Community Foundation funds. Affiliates benefit from the administrative support, guidance, and philanthropic expertise provided by the Fond du Lac Area Foundation and its staff, as well as the dedication and vision of local leaders within the communities being served.

The mission of the Beaver Dam Area Community Foundation is to unite donors to the non-profit causes they care about. On a daily basis, we work to educate and engage citizens on the power of charitable giving to effect positive change in Beaver Dam and surrounding areas.

The Beaver Dam Area Community Foundation prides itself on:

  • providing donors with easy ways to give in an effective and powerful manner.
  • offering flexibility in fund types so our donors can give where their heart is.
  • being inclusive and diverse in our grant issuance.
  • a robust loyalty to our community and state, as well as the individuals who reside here.
  • implementation of strategies which maximize investments.

The Beaver Dam Area Community Foundation’s grant-making program is supported both by donations designated for immediate distribution and income from the Foundation’s endowed funds. An endowment is a permanent source of funds that is invested for long-term growth. Each year, approximately 4% of the funds are disbursed to fulfill the fund’s purpose. As the invested balance grows, so does the amount of the annual grant so that more money is available for distribution over time. Endowed funds allow your family name to live on for perpetuity.
