The purpose of The Lewis C. Hack & Lois E. Hack Scholarship Fund of the Fond du Lac Area Foundation is to assist students of Fond du Lac County in attaining or completing a vocational or bachelor's degree at an accredited college, university or vocational school for a general or specialized degree. All legal residents of Fond du Lac County are eligible to apply.

Scholarships will be awarded to students showing sufficient scholastic aptitude to warrant further education but who lack sufficient means to provide the same for themselves.

Scholarships will be awarded only to full-time students.  The total amount of the scholarships will be dependent upon monies available for distribution from the Hack Scholarship Fund.


Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of the following student criteria:
Financial need
 Work History
Personal statement


A. Have completed (or will have completed during semester of application) a minimum of 36 credits toward a bachelor’s degree or 24 credits toward a vocational degree. (As verified by submission of most recent transcript)
Have registered or plan to attend college full-time (minimum of 12 credits)
Submit most recent CERTIFIED college transcript.  Applications without this requirement WILL NOT be considered.
Submit a copy of a current SAR (Student Aid Report) from filed Free Application for Financial Student Aid (FAFSA) to include EFC Number (Expected Family Contribution) to verify financial need, and top portion FAFSA DATA form confirming name and permanent address to verify residency.  Personal financial data may be blacked out.
Former Lewis C. Hack & Lois E. Hack Scholarship recipients are eligible to reapply.
