The Fond du Lac Area Foundation:  Selma R. (Soffa) Wolfson Scholarship

Selma R. (Soffa) Wolfson was born in Fond du Lac and was a graduate of Goodrich High School.  Selma married Ferdinand Wolfson and lived in Sacramento, California.  She was an active member and founding Legacy Circle member of the Assistance League of Sacramento. The Assistance League of Sacramento's Legacy Circle helps people to live beyond their years and live and give within their means. 


Two scholarships will be awarded annually to graduating seniors seeking a four-year degree.                                

Up to $12,500 awarded at $3,125 per year for up to four years.

Continued eligibility in years two to four will be based upon satisfactory academic progress and good academic standing with college or university (not on academic probation) as evidenced by most recent college transcript.  Eligibility is also dependent upon enrollment in a course of study leading to a degree or diploma in a recognized field of study.  Proof of enrollment for the coming semester showing full time status will also be required.  Any interruption in enrollment will cause the scholarship to lapse.


Student who demonstrates financial need and is most deserving in the opinion of the scholarship committee.

Particular scholastic or athletic ability is not a major criterion.  Grade point average may be considered by the selecting body to ensure the recipient will be successfully admitted to the college/university.
