This annual scholarship, started in 1995, is made possible through a grant from Mr. Harold C. Berkholtz, a deceased member of Trier-Puddy Post #75. This grant to Trier-Puddy Post #75 has been established through the Fond du Lac Area Foundation, which is a Community Trust maintained as a service for donors who wish to improve the quality of life for area residents. The interest from Mr. Berkholtz’s grant to American Legion Trier-Puddy Post #75 will be used annually for a scholarship for a high school graduate who is related to a member of Trier-Puddy Post #75. This graduate may be a member's son, daughter, grandson, granddaughter, adopted son, or adopted daughter. No other applicants will be considered excepting the possible consideration of a high school graduate related to a deceased member of Trier-Puddy Post #75 who was in “good standing” at the time of his or her death. The amount of the annual scholarship will be one $500 grant to a graduating senior selected by a committee.
