SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Fond du Lac Area Foundation, Herman C. Stieg Scholarships are currently available to worthy Fond du Lac County residents who demonstrate financial need.   Eligible students should be currently enrolled or planning to enroll in college, be seeking a degree, and have completed (or will have completed) a minimum of 24 college credits.  College credits obtained while attending high school does not apply to the minimum. This scholarship fund was established by the Revocable Trust of Herman C. Stieg.  It was Mr. Stieg’s wish that this scholarship be made available to worthy students who may not, for whatever reason, be able to afford the costs of attending college.  Multiple scholarships may be awarded.

SCHOLARSHIP GUIDELINES

Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of the following student criteria:
A. 
Financial need
B. 
Work History
C. 
Personal statement                                  

APPLICANTS MUST

A. Have completed (or will have completed during semester of application) a minimum of 24 college credits. (As shown on transcript(s))
B. 
Registered or plan to attend college full-time (minimum of 12 credits)
C. 
Be a legal resident of Fond du Lac County.  (As stated on Wisconsin Income Tax Form)
D. 
Submit most recent CERTIFIED college transcript.  Applications without this requirement WILL NOT be considered.
E. 
Submit a copy of a current SAR (Student Aid Report) from filed Free Application for Financial Student Aid (FAFSA) to include EFC Number (Expected Family Contribution) to verify financial need, and top portion of FAFSA date sheet confirming name and permanent address to verify residency.  Personal financial data may be blacked out.
F. 
Former Herman C. Stieg Scholarship recipients are eligible to reapply.
