The Alan R. Lemery Choral Scholarship was established in memory of Alan R. Lemery by his wife, Dorothy and family and friends. Fond du Lac lost the biggest supporter of choral music in our community with the death of Alan Lemery on December 8, 2006, at the age of 71. Alan was the heart and soul of choral music in Fond du Lac for over 32 years! He was director of the Fond du Lac Oratorio Chorus for that full duration, having retired in the spring of 2005. He was also the Director of Choirs at L.P. Goodrich High School from 1963 to 1995. In addition, he directed numerous church choirs and the Elk’s Men of Music for many years. This scholarship will be awarded annually to a Fond du Lac High School student who plans to major in choral music education, vocal performance, or musical theater.
