Long-time Mayville residents, Harold and Lois Hauffe, dedicated their careers to education. Lois was a high school English and history teacher who taught in the Weyauwega, West Bend, Horicon, and Juneau, Wisconsin school districts, and was a homebound instructor with the Mayville School District. Harold began and ended his career at Mayville High School. He was originally hired as a guidance counselor but served in many capacities during his 36-year career--social studies teacher, driver’s education instructor, assistant high school principal, and buildings and grounds supervisor. In addition, he coached various football, basketball and tennis teams. Following his retirement, Harold continued to serve the Mayville community as a school board member for another 15 years. Additionally, Harold and Lois served their community by contributing talents and time to many local service organizations and their church. Lois Hauffe passed away in 2004 and “Mr. Hauffe” passed away in 2014.
