A Fond du Lac Foundation, Anne M. Abel Scholarship is available to a graduating senior who resides in Fond du Lac County.  The student receiving this scholarship should have plans to major in music or music education. Anne M. Abel was a kindergarten through third grade elementary teacher for 34 years in Fond du Lac and Little Chute and also taught Driver Education for Fond du Lac High School and other area schools.  She played piano at Shakey's Pizza Parlors in Fond du Lac, Oshkosh, Appleton, and Green Bay.  She is the leader of the band, Page Four, that provides entertainment for weddings, anniversaries, church picnics, etc. throughout the area.  She retired from teaching in 2006 but continues as a substitute teacher and Driver Education instructor.  Her hobbies include sports—especially softball, for which she is a member of the Fond du Lac Hall of Fame—vegetable and flower gardening, traveling, and of course, music.


Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of the following student criteria:
A. Good citizenship
B. Scholastics
C. Personal statement
D. Music participation and experience


A. Be a legal resident of Fond du Lac County.
Submit a certified school transcript with the application. Applications without this requirement will not be considered. 
Have plans to major in music or music education.
